The rationale

I was a big fan of the Duo since my high-school days, thru the challenging college days, and even long after I became a practicing professional. This is my tribute to the musical geniuses Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel who influenced my early musical awareness, appreciation, and interests in the western (basically, American) folk-rock song-genre.

Simon & Garfunkel’s music was my refuge whenever I got tired of the hard metal and pop rock music that I was also following during my youth. Their music were usually slow and soft, with strong meaningful messages that are worthy of listening.

About Simon & Garfunkel

By  way of background for the uninitiated, Simon & Garfunkel’s met at elementary school in 1953 when they both appeared in the school play, Alice in Wonderland. By 1957, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, performing under the name Tom & Jerry, released their first single Hey, Schoolgirl.

Their commercial successes, however, began in the early 1960s and their music helped define the next two decades. Their folk-inspired harmonies provided a counterculture soundtrack to the era and their album Bridge Over Troubled Water went on to become one of the biggest selling albums of all time. The folk-rock music era

It was during this era that Folk-Houses (Bars) blossomed in all major cities across the country (Philippines). I missed the good old days when most youths trooped to Folk Houses after school/ work, to celebrate special occasions and/ or simply spend the time with their respective loved-ones, over cofee, beer or gin-tonic.

Summary and conclusion

It took us more than a year to plan and execute this project; and thanks to the Internet, travellings and physical “en banc” sessions were controlled to the minimum.

Thru this project, we have demonstrated how (with proper motivation) the limitations of Time and Space can be overcome i.e., by embracing the state-of-the-art AI, SCM and ICT technologies; which in effect, resulted to enhanced music-quality, production-efficiency, and greater audience-coverage.
